Movie Review

Is hip-hop about music,culture,or is it about degrading girls?In the movie Beats and Rhymes Byront Hurt describes all the negatives and positives on Hip-Hop.
"Beyond Beats and Rhymes" is a documentary on how Hip-Hop has different types of catergories,For example like in the documentary it explains how guys that cry are "bitches" are they really? No!!!! Also the movie talks about how mostly guys when they rap they talk about drugs,money,and girls.It really gives good information.
The documentary Has really good interviews.Also very imformative and good examples,I really liked the fat that they had many many different perspectives from different people.I really didnt like the fact that guys were talking baout how when girls dress a certain way they are hoes and they are prostitudes.I really didnt enjoy that.
The movie has really good information and hip-hop is trapped in a box.

Letter to Byron Hurt

Dear Mr.Byron Hurt,

Im a senior at Tennyson High School in Hayward California,My jounalism teacher showed us your documentary because we are doing one ourselves.I really like the way that you broke down your information so we could understand it better. well at least i did.I really got into two subjects,I realy disagree to the point where they were saying that guys that cry are bitch ass niggas i reallllyyy disagree with that statement.I mean if your mom dies and one of your bestfriends sees you are you a bitch ass nigga??? I really think that their are many different types of reasons when a guy needs to cry.Yea they might not be sensative as like us women but what are they trying to tell us? that women are very weak.So i really disagree to that point. I think everyone has the right to cry when ever and no matter what.
Another point that i thought was really good was, why do men only rap about money,sex,drugs,shooting and etc. Honestly i think people just rap to rap because evryone is rapping about it and they want to get notcied like they are. I also think that people dont really know the real definition of hip-hop.I really didnt enjoy seeing all those girls showing of what they got. Yea of coourse your going to get disrespect and called a "bitches and hoes"if your going to put yourself out their.Like the music videos the only reason why they probably like to come out in one is because they want to become ffamous but seriously is that the way to become famous? by shaking what you got.Plus women afterwards they start talking about how men are this and men are that well dont put yourself out their if you dont want to be called anything.
I feell like you really informed me in many different ways and i agree with you when you said that hip-hop is trapped in a box.To me that means that hip-hop has its own meaning and people think of it in different ways.I enjoyed watching your doc.You did a GREAT JOB!

Beyond Beats and Rhymes

1.Of course i think that this film is important to watch because many teenagers like to listen to hip-hop and they dont even know what it means.I think it really brought information out.The information that he brought out was how hip-hop is geting worse like women shaking their butts and all these types of things.
2.I realated to the point where he said that they call women bitches and hoes,how are you going to call women that just because of their clothing? i dont think thats right.i mean a women is the dumb one to if you want to get the attention get it right.i dont think the right wy is when you wear short things to show.
3.The line that stuck out to me was how at the end how he said that hip-hop is just inside a box its true its just inside of your mind that people think its cool to listen to just because everyone else does and then its just around for a while.
4.I stongly dissagree with the fact that they said that a guy that cries is a BITCH ASS NIGGA.Wow i really dont think thats right.If a guy cries and then he cries men also have feelings they dont always have to hide them.So if girls cry their bitch ass nigass??? so if your mom dies your going to be a bitch ass nigga cus your crying??..Really stupidd!!..
5.The things that were succesful was that he got his audience entertain the whole time with giving them history and teaching them lessons.I enjoyed watching the movie.

OKAY SO WELL......FOR SOME REASON I HAVE A FEELING THAT I HAVE A GHOST IN MY ROOM.....0KAY WELL ONE NITGHT I WAS WATCHING AMERICAN IDOL AND I HAD MY HEATER ON AND THEN FOR SOME REASON THE PLUG CAME OFF LIKE IF SOMEONE WERE TO PULL IT..BUT THATS IMPOSSIABLE I WAS IN MY BED WATCHING T.V I WAS REALLY SCARED SO I JUST FELL ASLEEP.THAT SAME DAY AR0UND 3AM I WOKE UP CUS I HEARD SOMETHING FALLING REALLY HARD.I LOOKED DOWN AND IT WAS A VASE OF FAKE FLOWERS THAT I HAVE.I STARTED TO TRIP AGAIN SO I STARTED TO CRY AND FELL ASLEEP. A COUPLE DAYS LATER I TEDDY BEAR FELL DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT,MY STEREO TURNED ON FOR NO REASAON ITS REALLY CREEPY.PLUS MY ROOM IS THE ONLY THAT GETS REALLY COLLD! I never thought that i will fall in love........And yet i still don't know what it means...Days pass by and i get stronger by the minute.When i was young i always thought that falling in love was something amazing....I found this guy that was really cute and he was something that going to keep forever...yea he had a lot of fun together but i as time was going ad passing i was realizing that he was just someone that i thought was really attractive...but nothing else we had been together for like 2 years..but then one night ...at a party i met this guy..it was really weird it was like a shooting star granting my wish..this guy just came out of no where offered me beer and was making conversation with me...after that we exchanged numbers..the night ended and we went home ...years past by and i never got a phone call and he never got one from me...until one day me and my friend were prank calling..i was like you know what let me prank call him...so we did and next thing you know I'm talking to him for like hours!....we started dating by the end of June ..we broke up ..got back together broke up and got back together gain...i feel like i have finally found the person that i wanted..i was tired of looking and he came along.i love spending time with him hes like a best friend to me.even though we have our ups and downs like most of the time! but i love every second of it.yea i might not be with him until the death but i live my present and I'm in join it. i love him .

My Reflection

My first time ever doing a slide show has been a great experience,when i first got the assignment i thought i was gong to struggle with it because i never really did anything like this.My Favorite part of this was good after all.Me and my partner worked together as in we listened to the video and we got all the pictures . What i earned about the story telling was that people go through a lot to get what they want to accomplish.What i would do different is how we deleted a lot things that i thought were kinda important.I think he will be proud of us and he would be touched by our work!

A person who feels locked up and confused in their minds.Don't feel pressured take some time and think about your future and your present how everything is going to change once you hit that 9 m0nth cycle.If you feel lost AB0RTI0N is not the answer!.In the fist place why didn't you use protection or that plan b pill and most IMPORTANT don't do it if you know the consequences.Abortion is not the solution.I mean do you actually think its the child fault.Their is really different situations like girls may be raped and it turns out to be that shes pregnant yea she might feel disgusted but once again you could give it up for adoption a baby deserves to be with a family.I think that abortion should be committed to be a crime because many teenagers take advantage of the fact that they could abort,and they think about it like a routine that its okay to get pregnant and abort it after?.I mean i really do think that we as teenagers should be safe and think about things twice! well this is my opinion i really don't think that its the baby's fault.
